James was heartbroken when he thought he would have to quit band due to the inability to purchase an instrument. After moving around from school-to-school he had found something he was passionate about. He wanted to play trombone! The school did not have any instruments available and renting was also not feasible for his family. Buncombe County teachers came together and found a solution! The North Carolina Foundation for Public School Children was able to fund a gently used trombone just for him!
